Are you an achievement miner?

I would use another word instead of ''miner'' but this topic would probably be locked. So are you the type of person who plays stupid games to get a high score or do you play the game just because you genuinely like it?Me personally, I wouldn't mind having a high gamerscore. Do I NEED it? Not at all. If at any point in time I wanted to get a high gamerscore I would try to get it with the games I already have or quality games I would enjoy playing. I would never play a game I thought sucked like Open Season or some random old sports game(notice I said these are games I thought sucked, but I do like sports games, but once they go out of date I don't care about em). In fact, to me that's more of an insult to myself because it doesn't prove how good I am, it just proves how desperate I am for points. So, do you mine for points or just play the game for the fun of it? Now, when I say mine for points I just mean people who buy games they know they won't like just so they can boost their GS. I don't mean the person who bought Dead Rising(just an example) and wants to sit through and hour of killing zombies to get an achievement because the reason they bought the game in the first place was to have fun.And I'm also not bashing anyone who does ''mine'' for points. What you do is your business and I wouldn't treat you any differently than anyone else. Are you an achievement miner?
not usually but lately I've been wanting to up my gs just because it's just way too low in generalAre you an achievement miner?
I had my 360 stolen by airport security (from Japan to Atlanta) a few weeks after I purchased it, so I don't really know what's up with the achievements other then bragging rights. Do they amount into money for Live Arcade games or something? Anyways, I don't think I would be a miner...too much time (on one console lol). Oh, and if anyone of you work at the airport in Atlanta...give me back my 360! loloh, and if anyone is wondering why I didn't hand carry, it's because I've been on a MILITARY BASE in JAPAN for the past three years and trust became complacent with me. And plus I always heard that America was strengthening it's airport security'I motivate them with things like donuts, and the posibility of more donuts to come.' -Homer
i just play the game but if i get some points ill b like eh kool lol and ill check what i got it 4 then keep playing as usual
i used to be, but not anymore. now i go for certain achievements in a game rather than ''finish lvl 1, blah, blah'' and other pointless achievements. something like ''seriously'' in gears, lvl 50 in lost planet, win 20title matches in smackdown stufflike that, when you get them you actually feel like youve achieved something.....isnt that why they are called achievements?
My GS sucks. Good thing I couldn't care less.
Sometimes for me,but it keeps me busy for a few weeks!!!
I just play the game for fun, get the acheivments along the way.
im pretty much the same i play the game through for what it is once, then i will go back and get any points i think i might be able to get. it does add life to games that would otherwise just sit around which is definately a good thing. but i think ppl that play crappy games just to get a higher gamer score, well honestly is just stupid. why would anyone serious enough about games to get a high gamer score subject themselves to playing mediocre crap like shrek, and other licensed games just for points. honestly what does it prove? getting points from a games like that should lower yur score honestly...anyway just my opinion.
I don't play games I don't like but sometimes I do rent some games I would not normally play just to see if I can get some achievements, and it has kind of opened me up to a couple of new genres. I still stay away from WW2 games and racing games but other than that I can pretty much play anything. Also I find it incredibly entertaining and it ups the replay value on every game I own. I go back to playing some of my old games just to get all the achievements that I missed out on.
I was until my Gamertag became corrupted disabling me from signing into xbox live. Microsoft couldn't explain itnor rectify my situation so I had a new one created.I went from 14,000+ to 0 in an instant. It's funny, I found myself playing the worst games imaginable (Superman Returns anyone?)simply to obtain easy achievements. Now, I play games and ONLY games that I enjoy. As for Gamerpoints? I'll take what I'm given from now on.
Well maybe a little...I try to get as many achievements as I can from the games I do have...like Prey I played through a second time just to get 75 points...
I am an achievement ''miner'' but I still play the game for fun. I won't buy some crappy game just for achievements.
not usually but lately I've been wanting to up my gs just because it's just way too low in general
ye same here actualy
I'd be lying if I said no. I don't buy games just for points but I've rented games I might normally stay away from. Achievements do extend my interest in games that would probably gather dust after one play through, though.
no Im an achievement adult mwahahahahahahahahahahhasome time I just kill my self!!
eh im guilty of this i once rented a game for achievments. other than that idc most are rediculous like seriously in gears i dont have the time to get that but i like finishing lvls and stuff actually beating the game you know.
I'm an achievement ''miner''...I suppose. It's a good thing though...it makes me play games that I normally would never have thought of playing.
yes ive been bitten by the achievement bug, i play all the games i can to get my GS up, its not going up fast but its getting there. i would rent crappy games to get achievements just not be connected to live though, dont want anyone seeing me playing DOA X2.
If its a game i like with an achievement i want I'll go for it im not going to play nba2k7 or anything but if i want an achievement I'll try and get it.
