EVER receive an e-mail from Microsoft telling them that because there was such a huge hardware issue with ALL console manufactured BEFORE January 2006, that they had given a lifetime warranty to those systems? I know for a fact that I did receive an e-mail with that message, but my wife emptied all the old messages in the ''in-box'' so now I no longer have it. :( I know I'm not the only one to hear about this cause roughly 10-12 others on XBL (in my friends list) and my brother in law remember reading about it almost 10 months ago.Did anyone else here......

what's really sad is that forum posts that originally talked about it have been systematically wiped out (my brother in law has noticed this too) and MS reps completely deny it.
They made it a ONE year warranty a bit ago. I know this because the store I go to (Gamecrazy) told me about it since all of them were informed about it. They never did a lifetime warranty. That wouldn't make sense at all because they are going to make a new system in a few years and they would lose a ton of money on it as well. So in conclusion, the only thing they did was extend the 3 month warranty to one full year.
