Just curious - and if you do use a powerstrip, has it given the 360 any problems? When my 360 arrives I was thinking about using my 22'' Samsung instead of my SDTV but obviously I don't have that much power to go around where my PC sits, so I'll have to use a power strip. Will this give me any problems?Does anyone here plug their 360 into a p ...
I use a power strip most of the time and haven't noticed any problems. It was recommended to me to try not using a strip when I called xbox customer support when my 360 was giving me trouble. I was told that the power brick acts as a surge protector. I've had 360's red ring when I was plugged straight to the wall and when I was plugged to a strip, go figure.Does anyone here plug their 360 into a p ...
No it shouldn't give you any problems, but remember don't over heat your plugs for god's sake you'll start a fire.
I got my Elite and Samsung plugged into a two outlet power surge. But I've read in the manuals that you don't have to plug your 360 into one, also for the Samsung tv, both of them have their own internal power surge protector.
Mines plugged into a power strip along with my TV, phone charger, lol paper shreader and free view. No problems but Ive heard people not getting enough power to the 360 with these strips. If your worried just plug and play from the mains.
Mines plugged into one as well and I've had no problems.
plugged into a 6 way power board, fired after 8 months with freeazing followed by a slice of red lights, selling new swapped one for ps3.
Mine is plugged into one and I haven't had any problems...
mines pluged into a 6 plug strip. pluged in are, 360, Tv, pc, monitor, speakers, and a little fan. all can be run at the same time.
Yep mines in a power strip with my PC, Wii, TV and freeview and all is good
Mines plugged into one as well and i dont think i've had any problems that relate to that.
Mine is plugged into a 5 way strip with TV, 360, PS3, Stereo and Wii. No problems, or freezing at all.
got mine plugged into a 6way strip and i got no problems, except when i plug a guitar amp but thats basically pushing it haha
Use a little math to play it safe, most good power strips are rated for 15 amps, add up the stuff you are going to plug into it and have on at the same time. The 360 and a HDTV will put itclose to max.if your not sure have someone that does check it out. The guy with all the stuff plugged into one strip isjust asking for trouble.
There will not be any problems if the electric quality in your house is good.. Many houses have bad quality and when you use a powerstrip the 360 dont get enough power and can break so i would check if the quality is good then you canuse a powerstrip..
I do...i havent had any problems yet...i got a core system on release date and it works fine..it may freeze sometimes but other then that its really works great =]I have alot of stuff plugged in my powerstrip...like my wireless adapter ( the old xbox 1 ) a TV ....Power for my speaks...phone charger....battery charger =// and it still works good wit out problemshope i helped
when i had my first 360 it was is a powerstrip. Then it died, so just in cause I don't plug my secound one in a powerstrip.
My xbox 360 was plugged into the wall when i got my 3 red lights so im like goddamit fixed it and finally put it in the power strip.... and its been fine...
For the longest time I didn't. But then there was a power flicker and my 360 got the 3 red lights which scared me to death, but it was only a false alarm. I called MS and they said everything should be fine and it was, my 360 worked fine. So then I started using a powerstrip or whatever to prevent my 360 from getting damaged by one of those flickers so. I had that setup for a long time and then just recently my 360 died, but I don't believe it has anything to do w/ the powerstrip. Although I have heard that you should plug it directly into the wall, but I don't know why.
No problems...
